Adding a sub-surface aeration system is the perfect way to increase your pond's or lake's water quality and oxygen levels while maintaining its natural appearance. Sub-surface aerators utilize diffuser modules that sit at the bottom of your pond and are connected by weighted tubing to an air compressor on shore. The compressor pumps much-needed air to the very bottom of the pond to de-stratify the water column and infuse oxygen into the water. The membrane on the diffuser breaks the air into tiny bubbles, which are released into the pond. As these bubbles rise to the surface, they carry the low-oxygen bottom water upwards, where it mixes with the oxygen-rich surface water. The constant mixing causes the water column to de-stratify, allowing harmful gases to be released into the atmosphere.

These heavy-duty, rocking-piston compressors are designed for the demanding job of 24-hour operation. The oil-free design safely aerates ponds with no electricity in the water. Available in 115 or 230 volts. Lightweight, die-cast aluminum components, permanently lubricated bearings and easily replaceable piston seal.

The Matala rocking piston compressor with heavy duty cabinet is ideal for ponds and lakes from 1/4 - 4 acres. The locking cabinet is landscape green color and designed for outdoor extreme weather conditions. The cabinet stands on a solid support base to maintain a level installation. Within the cabinet you'll find a cooling fan with cross flow ventilation. The compressor plugs into a built in outlet. All components are protected within. The heat protection hose leads externally and all you have to do is connect your air hose. Very simple to install and operate. The cabinet should be located above pond water level and flood zone and within 50 feet of the shore. Do not bury.

MOVE & AERATE LARGE VOLUMES OF WATER

AERATION SYSTEM COMPONENTS

Air Compressor: The air compressor is the primary piece of the aeration system, it is the pump that produces the compressed air that is delivered to the bottom of the pond. Compressors should be housed in a compressor cabinet near a power source.

Weighted Tubing: Weighted tubing carries the air produced by the compressor down to the diffuser(s) at the bottom of the pond. The weight of the tubing keeps it at the bottom of the lake.

Diffuser(s): Depending on the size of the pond you can have one to multiple diffusers throughout the pond. Diffusers receive the air from the compressor and “diffuse” it into tiny bubbles that aerate the entire water column from the bottom to the surface. 

Air Compressor Enclosure (optional): Air compressor enclosures conceal and protect you air compressor. If air compressors get wet or too hot, they will quit working. Compressor cabinets not only protect your pump from the elements, they also contain an air manifold, cooling fan and connecting airlines.

The EasyPro Stratus RV Series rotary vane compressors are specifically designed for the demanding job of 24 hour operation. They offer less depth capabilities than diaphragm or rocking piston compressors but produce considerably more air.
