A general fish tonic made from evaporated sea water. Improves gill function, protects against nitrite toxicity & reduces stress by helping to maintain a natural balance of electrolytes in the body fluids of pond fish.
Salt is essential to help control the electrolyte balance in both koi and goldfish. It also promotes the natural slime coat on the fish, which protects against fungus and disease, as well as helps reduce stress. The pond salt is made from evaporated sea water, making it 99% pure. It is superior to table salt (sodium chloride) for maximum effectiveness.
Directions for use:
Use 1 lb per 100 gallons of water in ponds containing plants. Use 2-3 lbs per 100 gallons of water in ponds without plants. Best if mixed with pond water to create a slurry and then spread around the pond’s perimeter.

Will help maintain a healthy pond environment and reduce the threat of parasitic disease in pond water.
Microbe-Lift Pond Salt Crystals added to your pond water can be effective in helping to maintain a healthy fish environment and, in proper dosages, has proven to be helpful in reducing the threat of parasitic infestations in the pond.
Microbe-Lift Pond Salt Crystals will temporarily block the toxic effects of nitrite, and by initiating the production of a thicker slime coat on the fish's body surface, helps to promote a stronger immune system and reduce stress.
Caution - Do not overdose. When adding salt to ponds that contain aquatic plants, be especially careful in monitoring salt concentration as salt can be a toxic effect on certain plants. Before adding salt to your pond, remove any zeolite products being used.
Directions - Salt will not evaporate from your pond. After testing your pond water with a hydrometer, you can add salt with your regular water changes. We recommend mixing salt and pond water in a bucket, and then spreading the slurry around the perimeter of your pond. Be careful to avoid direct contact with pond plants.

Microbe-Lift/Therapeutic Salt For Ponds & Quarantine Tanks reduces the amount of energy a fish must expend to maintain osmotic balance, in fresh water fish, this energy can be substantial. If your fish is suffering as a result of a nitrite spike (a.k.a. Brown Blood Disease), ML/Therapeutic Salt For Quarantine Tanks acts to slow the rate of nitrite uptake - possibly the difference between survival and death, with electrolytes, minerals and Allantoin, which accelerates wound and fin healing, ML/Therapeutic Salt provides the necessary elements pond fish require to reduce stress and develop a healthy slime coat.
CautionBe especially careful when adding any salt to tanks containing aquatic plants as salt can have a toxic effect. Before adding salt, remove any zeolite products. Fish emit excessive amounts of ammonia when salted, so test your water for ammonia spikes with Microbe-Lift/Ammonia Test Strips. Don't overdose.

API® AQUARIUM SALT is made from evaporated sea salt and is a must-have for your aquarium! AQUARIUM SALT promotes fish health by improving gill function, making it easier for fish to breathe. It also provides essential electrolytes that fish need to reach peak coloration and vitality. These electrolytes may be lost each time you perform a partial water change, and will need to be replenished.
Use API AQUARIUM SALT in freshwater aquarium tanks when starting a new aquarium, and any time you perform a water change. Care should be taken when using salt in aquariums with live plants, as some plants may be sensitive.
