Aquadyne 2" Retro Bottom Drain (MPN RHRET-2)

94023 - Aquadyne 2" Retro Bottom Drain (MPN RHRET-2)

The Aquadyne Retrofit Bottom Drain is a stable and rugged over the liner bottom drain for those who do not want to install a drain through a liner, or for pre-constructed ponds that do not have a bottom drain. This drain is especially useful for pond and aquatic environments that have pre-existing liner, concrete, or any other situation that would not allow underground plumbing to be installed.

Simply fill the ballast area of the drain with small stone, sand, or other heavy inert material. Then attach a suction hose or rigid plumbing to the side port of the drain and attach to the pump suction line. Place the drain in the center or the deepest part of the pond so that the pump can easily suck up suspended solids and debris from the bottom of the pond. During the winter months, the drain can be easily moved to a more shallow part of the pond leaving the warmer water in the lower parts of the pond undisturbed where the fish collect in colder temperatures.

Retro Bottom Drain.

Pros: 10.75" dia x 4" tall with additional .75" standoff. and wonderful construction.

This is well made and exceeded expectations. I'm using this in a large stock tank converted into a Koi pond. As I'm new to Koi, the amount of waist was more than my suctioning a couple times a week plan would handle. This along with a cyclonic return port to channel the waist into the middle seems to be the answer. This will be tied into a gross matter filter, to be converted into a sieve soon. There is another filter and bio filter and bog filter already.

Below you'll find a list of tips that should help make the design and construction go a little smoother. Hopefully, saving you time and frustration.

Understanding Diffused Aeration

Cleaning & Maintaining Your Pump

11/02/2018 01:09:09 PM: Eventually, your submersible pump is going to drop in performance as you'll generally notice when the waterfall flow begins to lessen. For the most part, it's not a direct issue with the pump itself but rather debris blocking the intake.

Fall and Winter Pond Care
